Full Description

The 16th century Merati-Berlendis palace is located on the Fondamenta Nuove in Sestiere di Cannaregio. The palace is a national monument with a rich and elegant collection of wall-plaster engravings. In this palace stayed and lived: the bishop Pasquinelli, the brother-in-law of Camillo Berlendis; the famous German writer Friedrich Nietsche, for four years he lived here, during which he wrote some of his most famous works. The apartment is divided in two parts � an apartment for 4+2 persons situated at the first floor and a studio apartment for 2 persons situated on the ground floor. Between the two apartment there is a nice garden of circa 60sq meters, where you can also find a small storeroom with the heating system and the washing machine. The bigger apartment has a large and sunny living room with two windows overlooking the Fondamenta dei Mendicanti and it is furnished with two sofas, a fireplace with an antique mirror on the top, a small wooden table and a small sofa. The sleeping area consists of two bedrooms: one double room and a twin room. There is also the possibility of adding two more beds. The double bedroom is furnished with a double bed (can be separated), two night tables with night lamps, a walnut wardrobe, a drawer chest with a mirror and a television with remote control. Ensuite bathroom with a bath tub. The twin room is furnished with two single beds, two night lamps, two mirrors and a modern six-doors wardrobe, ensuite bathroom with shower. The kitchen is provided with fridge and freezer, oven, gas cook-top, fan, dish washer, a wooden table with four wooden chairs and a cupboard. From a French window, in the kitchen, you can exit into the terrace. From the terrace a staircase leads to the garden from which you enter into the studio apartment: The living room/bedroom is furnished with a sofa bed for two persons, a desk with two chairs, two night tables with lamps, a small armchair, a cupboard and a television with remote control. In this room there is a big wooden wardrobe with a small kitchen inside composed by a sink, two electric hobs, extractor fan and fridge with freezer. The left side of the wardrobe can be used as a real wardrobe for hanging clothes. On the right side of the kitchen you find the bathroom with shower box, bidet, w.c., a boiler for hot water and a big sink with mirror. The windows of the living room/bedroom looks onto the garden while the window of the bathroom looks to the Canal dei Mendicanti.
